It happens to us all…my mom passed away on June 4. I’ll be back with more Visual Coffee Break at some point in the near future.
Claudette Marie (Morse) Snyder June 25, 1945 - June 4, 2024

Claudette Snyder, 78, of Chelsea, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 4, 2024. She departed peacefully at home with her husband by her side due to accelerated progression of Alzheimer's Disease.
Claudette was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 25, 1945, to Marcelle (Tremblay) Morse of Quebec, Canada and Larry Earl Morse of Altus, Arkansas. The oldest of six children, she graduated from Clarenceville High School in 1962. She married Thomas J. Snyder on June 2, 1962. The couple moved with their three children from Livonia, Michigan to Chelsea, Michigan in 1970 where she resided ever since.
Claudette was a vibrant person who lit up the room with her warm and friendly presence. She enjoyed family gatherings at their home, celebrating many holidays and birthdays for her large extended family and close friends. Claudette loved nature, especially flowers and birds; she and Thomas cultivated beautiful flower and vegetable gardens every year on their property. Every winter they fed the birds and Claudette was an expert at bird identification.
After raising three children Claudette earned a BA in General Studies from the University of Michigan in 1992. Worked at the Environmental Protection Agency, Environmental Research Institute of Michigan, and ProQuest in Ann Arbor. After Tom retired, she assisted him in running two businesses: Environmental Consulting and Superior Woodworks.
Claudette learned to play acoustic guitar, was a prolific reader, enjoyed nature photography, and made lovely cross-stitch works of art. She loved RV camping and traveling with Tom throughout North America. Adventuring to many US National Parks including Great Smoky Mountains, Yellow Stone, Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton, Moab, Mount Rainer, Crater Lake, and Black Hills. They also visited many Provincial Parks and National Parks in Canada. She enjoyed visiting family and friends in Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, New York, Louisiana, and Quebec. She loved scenery and sunsets, especially on the Great Lakes. She loved hiking in all the places they visited. In 1987, Claudette and her sister camped and hiked several 12,000-foot peaks and a 14,000 foot-peak in the Rocky Mountains. She enjoyed downhill and cross-country skiing. Claudette and Tom volunteered as campground hosts at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park for 12 years where they were perfect hosts with Claudette's warm demeanor and her knowledge of the area.
Claudette was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife. Raised in the Catholic Church, she was a faithful servant of the Lord her entire life. Her strong faith helped her through the challenges and adventures of her life, she was a great example to all of those around her. She will be greatly missed.
